Coding & Robotics "Sensei" (Trainer)

Summary:

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education has become a priority to many countries around the world, as they look to build a STEM-educated workforce that helps them to stay globally competitive and can help in solving many of today’s global problems.
Skill Samurai's STEM-based curriculum helps our students establish a connection between the school academics, work of future, sensitivity to community and puts it all in the global context. Kids who learn how to code today will strengthen their critical thinking skills, develop better logical and computational thinking, and will be a step ahead of their peers in terms of analytical thinking and in teamwork.
As a coding and robotics educator, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the lives of our young people. You’ll not only educate, but inspire, motivate and encourage a new generation of learners and guide them to make a positive impact in the world around them. An educator helps his/her students to be passionate about learning and understands the impact and importance of lifelong education.

Overview of Role:

As part of your onboarding, you will be required to complete the necessary trainings for the respective courses you'll be teaching, before being allowed to conduct any lesson.
A Sensei will need to:● Make the necessary lesson preparations before each class● Guide a group of students (categorized from kids to young adults) online and/or offline● Actively engage and retain students’ focus, while keeping each lesson interesting throughout● Focus on group play to develop children’s social skills● Produce and communicate accurate progress reports of the child’s learning journey● Explain concepts such as Computer Science, STEM and 21st century skillsets● Serve as the liaison between parents/students and our business/the community● Serve as a brand ambassador; representing our business by internalizing processes, the overall branding, vision and mission of the school● Attend staff meetings

Your Skills and Experience:

● Tertiary undergraduates to Bachelor’s degree● Background in Early Childhood Education, Computer Science, STEM education or curriculum development is a bonus● Experience in teaching is preferable● Patient, approachable and possess a passion for teaching kids and young adults● Able to connect, interface and establish cordial relationships with parents● Possess a high degree of professionalism (in terms of appearance, dressing and communication skills)● Energetic, with a positive, can-do attitude● Able to work well in a team● Able to multitask● Accepts direction, supervision and constructive criticism● Fluent in English
